SUNSHINE THRIFT STORES

WHAT DAYS DOES SUNSHINE THRIFT STORE HAVE SALES OR DISCOUNTS?

Sunshine Thrift Stores run sales every day of the week!
Every Tuesday is Senior Discount Day — customers 55 and older receive 25% off all clothing purchases with proof of age. Every Wednesday is Military Day — active duty military, veterans, first responders, and law enforcement receive 25% off all clothing purchases with a valid ID. Additionally, Sunshine Thrift rotates two color tags to 50% off every week across all three Tampa Bay locations. Our current sale colors are posted on our website and in-store each week. New inventory arrives daily, so every visit offers fresh finds at already-discounted thrift prices!

Sunshine Thrift is open 7 days a week, 362 days per year! The only days we are not open are Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Easter.

WHAT ITEMS DO SUNSHINE THRIFT STORES WANT TO ACCEPT AS DONATIONS?

Sunshine Thrift values all quality donations, but the items that seem to be most sought after by our customers and thrift community include: vintage clothing, such as band and concert tees, designer and name-brand clothing in good condition (Nike, Adidas, Ralph Lauren, Free People, Anthropologie, and similar), quality kitchenware (cast iron, Pyrex, Le Creuset, vintage serving pieces), mid-century modern furniture and décor, vintage jewelry, and gently-used housewares in working condition.

WHAT CHARITIES DO SUNSHINE THRIFT STORES SUPPORT?

Sunshine Thrift Store is a for-profit company that partners with local charitable organizations to fund their missions. Current charity partners include the National Kidney Foundation of Florida, Metropolitan Ministries, St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. All of our charity partners directly serve and support the Tampa Bay community. By purchasing inventory from these charity partners, Sunshine Thrift converts donated goods into direct funding that has generated nearly $3 million, for the National Kidney Foundation of Florida alone, since the program's inception.

HOW DOES THE COLOR TAG SYSTEM WORK AT SUNSHINE THRIFT STORES?

Sunshine Thrift Stores use a color-coded tag rotation system to keep inventory fresh and prices low. Every item in the store is tagged with a colored price tag. Each week, two specific colors are selected and marked down to 50% off their already-low thrift price. The colors rotate weekly, so that older inventory gets discounted to make room for new arrivals. This means the longer an item sits on the rack, the more likely it is to go on sale! The current week's sale colors are published every Tuesday on the Sunshine Thrift Stores website and posted inside each store.
